About Tracy Hess
Looking at Tracy today, you wouldn’t know that she struggled with weight issues as a youngster and had limited options for exercise. Perhaps it is those limitations she endured growing up in Mobile, Alabama, that led to her choice of career. Today, after 26 years in the fitness industry, Tracy has helped hundreds of men, women and children become healthy and fit.
After relocating from Mobile to Philadelphia in 1978, Tracy landed a spot as a Philadelphia Eagles cheerleader, earning countless awards in competitive aerobics and bodybuilding. Then she met her future husband and best friend, bodybuilder Chris Hess. They are blessed with three healthy children, Christina, John, and Chris, who are all active and fit.
Tracy continues to offer her fitness services at two locations in Bucks and Montgomery counties. She provides personal training at Healthy Concepts, a gym in Hatboro, PA, and a high-energy, intense weight training class at the B&R Fitness Center in Feasterville, PA.
She has expanded her educational work to include a motivational fitness workshop for teenaged girls, in which she helps them build self-esteem through a series of classes about nutrition, exercise, and how to create and maintain a positive outlook on life.
In addition to her personal training and fitness consulting work, Tracy volunteers as a coach for her daughter’s cheerleading squad and helps her husband prepare for his bodybuilding shows. Recently, Tracy was cast in the upcoming movie, “Redemption” which will be filmed in Philadelphia in the spring of 2009.
Marking her comeback to professional competition, Tracy qualified in 2008 in the National Women’s Bodybuilding Competition, ranking in the top five in the Team Universe Competition in New York City.
Tracy’s approach to fitness education and nutrition has been featured in several national magazines including her most recent appearance in Muscular Development. She also has been profiled in Muscle & Fitness, Today's Black Woman, Style Magazine, Philadelphia Magazine, and local publications including Bucks County Courier Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philly Fit, Florida Muscle and the Chicago Times. Tracy’s continuing goal is to educate Americans about health and fitness, helping to help keep our country healthy and strong.
